Thank you letter received from the Rochester School
for the Deaf We at Rochester School for the Deaf, and myself in
particular as Director of the Speech/Communication and Audiology
Programs, want to acknowledge receiving your recent check of $2,400 for
the purchase of two hearing aids for Kyra Ernisse. As you can see from
the enclosed pictures, the two hearing aids have been purchased and an
excited and happy recipient and mother are evident. We are familiar with your wonderful organization of
the International Order of Job's Daughters and the charitable project
that you support, The HIKE Fund, Inc. Seeing students benefit from your
generosity where tangible, life-enriching effects occur is such a true
pleasure. We want you to know we feel YOU MAKE A REAL DIFFERENCE! May I say thank you so very much for your caring
and support of the deaf and hard of hearing population. You will be able
to see from the look on Kyra's and her mother's faces, there's a
pictorial thank-you dedicated to you. Sincerely,

Colorado HIKE Presentation May 2005 Serenity N., HQ of Bethel 31 of Fountain, CO, presented a smiling ten-year old Erik Momotyuk with a check from The HIKE Fund for hearing aids. Erik lost most of his hearing as the result of an automobile accident more than two years ago. He suffered severe head trauma and has had numerous surgeries to help repair his injuries. Erik has a mid to severe hearing loss; he cannot hear high pitches and soft sounds. Hearing aids will help him to hear someone with a very high or very soft voice. The aids will also help him to do better in school when he's able to go back, be more alert in his daily life, play music again, and feel a lot better about himself. He has made a miraculous recovery so far. Erik will work with the Children's Hospital of Broomfield to help him to hear better with his aids. After the presentation, Erik and family, along with members of Fountain Valley Lodge, the Eastern Star Chapter, and the Bethel enjoyed a pot luck supper.
On April 4th, before the Official Visitation of Bethel #18 at the Westminster Masonic Center, the Honored Queen invited Kayla Kapelke and her family to the East where Kayla was presented a check from HIKE. Kayla's mom and dad, sister, and grandparents were present to receive the check. Kayla slept through the entire presentation.

Minnesota HIKE Presentation April 2005 At a special ceremony held at the Mankato Clinic at Wickersham, MN, the end of April 2005, members from Bethels in St. Peter and Mankato presented a check to two-year old Wren Eccles. Wren was born prematurely weighing only one pound and three ounces. Wren and his family have faced many obstacles during the past two years including learning that he was hearing impaired. Wren's mother, Erin, told a local newspaper that was present for the presentation, "It's incredible what Job's Daughters have done for us, because we didn't know until recently that our insurance wouldn't cover the costs for Wren's hearing aids. The doctors say that with the aids he will regain almost his full hearing. I can't thank these girls enough for what they've done and we truly are blessed by it."
