New York HIKE PresentationA HIKE award was received by The Director of Speech and Audiology at the Rochester School for the Deaf. On September 26, 2006, an Audiologist at the School presented the award to 8 year old Tre Vaughn, who was at the school with his mother. The Audiologist inserted both aids and described all items in the new aids packet. Everyone was as happy as could be. Pictures were taken and all enjoyed every minute. Thank you!

At the home of the Hopkins on September 17, 2006, 9 year old Meghan and 6 year old Melanie received HIKE awards. A small gathering of friends and family attended the presentation, after which all enjoyed a barbeque meal.
In June at Ohio’s Annual Grand Session, a HIKE presentation was made to Michael DiPio, 15 years old. The family was escorted to the east. The HIKE representatives for 2005-2006 explained Job’s Daughters and The HIKE Fund. Michael’s mother expressed their thanks with tears. She shared Michael’s history of his hearing impairment and how his new digital aids will help him not only in school, but in his life.
The following Thank You note was received from Michael and his family:
To all Job’s Daughters,
Words alone cannot express how grateful we are to have been given a grant from your organization! Because of ALL of your generosity, our son was able to get a new pair of hearing aids. They are digital and they are great. He has expressed to me on several occasions that he can hear so much better! It is nice to see so many young women donate their free time, and extra time unselfishly to help ALL hearing impaired children! In today’s day and age, it’s a true blessing to see young people work so hard for other young people! May God bless each and every one of you who were involved in our son’s case and May God bless each and every one of those young ladies who work so hard!
With much gratitude,
Michael’s Mother
September 15, 2006 11 month old Najah Carlise was presented and fitted with a hearing aid by an audiologist at the Vanderbilt Bill Wilkerson Center, Department of Hearing and Speech Sciences. Her parents sent the following Thank You:
"Thank you so much for making it possible for our daughter, Najah, to be able to hear. Najah was diagnosed with Bilateral External Auditory Canal Stenosis at 8 months of age. You all have made it possible for Najah to develop normal speech and stay on task developmentally. As soon as the audiologist placed the hearing aid on Najah her eyes lit up. It was very emotional for us. Najah is now 11 months and beginning to say words. We are grateful for all your support. With Many Thanks,"
Signed by her mother and father.
